Ears and Alzheimers

Next Thursday my YDD is having ear tubes put in and possibly her adenoids removed. I'm nervous about it. Since she is 2 1/2, she's older than most kids who get the tubes. She may be right on the border of out growing it. We could wait and risk her getting another and see but we decided that wasn't the best option. When you read off the antibiotic list for the past year it comes out to 11 times on antibiotics (that would be 1 a month but it isn't - it's March, July, Nov-Feb). We had 2 doctors saying she needs this so we opted to trust their wisdom (I know doctors aren't perfect).
Pray for us on Thursday.

On another note, some of you know that my grandmother has Alzheimer's and is in a nursing home. My parents moved her up here when they moved up here when ODD was 1 1/2. She is actually in her 2nd nursing home up here because the 1st kicked her out when her Alzheimer's progressed. I guess the administration was tired of dealing with her 'cause the nurses and aids appeared to love her and didn't know anything about the move when we picked her up. I digress. Her present nursing home is closing their Alzheimer's wing and we have to move her. There are no other Alzheimer winged nursing homes in our area unless we go the private pay option and she/we just can't afford that. The closest nursing home is in another state. That may not be a problem but we don't know the consequences of taking her over state lines. We are checking into it. So pray we find a home for my grandmother. She's beyond letting us know she knows what's going on so whatever transition takes place will probably be ok with her.
